Nissan Pathfinder: a rock-solid, rugged performer
Nissan Pathfinder | Theres plenty of power for everyday use and while you
wont forget youre at the wheel of a truck, the ride
is civilized. Even with the off-road tires my Pathfinder wears,
cabin noise is muted. Im seeing 16 mpg in mixed driving.
Four-wheel drive models can be easily shifted into different modes
on the fly. My Off Road tester gets upgraded Rancho shocks, Hill
Start Assist and Hill Descent Control that make tough runs on steep
grades a breeze. Im not challenging Pathfinder to the point
where I need that extra help going up and down scary hills, but I
have used HAS and HDC in Nissans Xterra. It works.
Most of us dont require extreme off-road prowess but seating
for seven is always useful. Along this trail, Pathfinder stumbles.
I have a hard time finding a comfortable seating position in the
pilots chair. Seats are a very individual thing. Like any
vehicle, check them before you write the big check.
